A new home, a new tradition

Elina, who has embraced Irendell's rich heritage in arts and crafts after emigrating from a distant country, will tell us her story. Her story is about her experience, empowerment, and creating a deep connection to the tradition that defines our country.

The biggest change in Elina’s life

Elina's journey to Irendell was not an easy one. She fled her homeland in search of a place where she could live freely and take control of her own life. In her previous country, life was challenging, and opportunities for women were limited.

Driven by a desire to be a part of a community where women support and uplift one another, she made the difficult decision to leave everything behind and start a new life in Irendell.

From a Distant Land to a New Home

Finding Empowerment in an All-Female Community

In Irendell, Elina found exactly what she was looking for: a society that empowers women. She became part of an almost all-female community dedicated to the tradition of arts and crafts, but also independence. They empower each other through shared skills, stories, and support.

Elina quickly became an active member of the community, learning traditional weaving, pottery, and techniques unique to Irendell. She immediately inherited the skill to perform arts and craft and earn her own money.

For Elina, arts and crafts are more than just a skill or income. They are a way to honor the legacy of those who came before and to share that heritage with the next

generation.

A Community United by Tradition

Elina's story is a testament to the power of tradition in shaping identity and forming a close community. Through the support of her all-female community, she has found a place where she can express herself, find

empowerment, and contribute to something greater than herself.
