Ayla is a dedicated, passionate entrepreneur. She puts a lot of time and work into her business. But this doesn’t stop her from being actively involved in her community. Outside of her working hours, she puts a lot of time in her community, helping wherever she can. A work-life balance is really important to her, making it a priority to spend quality time with her children and close family, as well as taking care of herself. She strongly values self-care so she can relax and recharge.

My day begins early in my spacious, eco-friendly home. As an upper-middle-class entrepreneur, I have worked hard to build a successful life for myself and my two daughters. After preparing a healthy breakfast with fresh, locally grown products. I sit down and eat with together as a family. Family time in the morning is very important for me, as it's a way to be a good example for my children.
Once my children are off to school, I spends a few quiet moments practicing self-care. Morning meditation helps maintain balance. As a caring, positive individual in a busy world this can help me a lot. I value these moments of peace, allowing me to maintain my mental and physical well-being.
Entrepreneurial and creative work
Afterward, I head to my workspace, where my arts and crafts business operates. I'm an entrepreneur with a sharp sense of business, having studied both craftsmanship and business management. Today, I am preparing to meet a new client who is interested in a large batch of handcrafted carpets, a combination of traditional Irendell techniques and modern innovations. This changes from day to day.
I enjoy the process of creation and strive to improve my expertise in arts and crafts. While I have a team of artists working with me, I often take the lead in design, ensuring that each piece reflects the heritage of Irendell, while embracing newer trends. This combination of tradition and innovation has made the business one of the most respected in the country.
Entrepreneurial and creative work
At this time I usually attend a community event I have helped to organize. As a sociable and ambitious leader, I am mostly active in supporting other women in Irendell. Today’s event is a workshop for young female entrepreneurs, focusing on growing small businesses while maintaining independence. Every time I give a short speech. Today I shared my own journey as a single mother who has built her company from the ground up. My goal is to inspire others and reinforce Irendell’s values of female empowerment and equality.
During the networking session, we make time to discuss opportunities for partnerships and collaborations with other local businesswomen. As the head of the company, I am always looking for growth opportunities for the business, whether through new client acquisitions or expanding the product line. We strive to include more innovative crafts using eco-friendly materials.
Family time and reflection
After a busy day of managing my business and engaging with the community, I pick up my children from their activities. They share stories about their day, and I listens closely, always eager to encourage their growth and happiness. As a single mother, I value my time with them. We often work on small craft projects together at home, passing on the tradition I have learned from my own mother.
Dinner is spent with family and close friends, a big and important part of our life. I believe in the importance of community. This is why I surround myself with people who share the same vision, where women are independent and empowered.
Lastly, before bed, I spend some time sketching new designs for my next collection, pushing the boundaries of traditional crafts with modern innovation. I reflect on my day and take pride in the life I have built. One where I am independent, successful, and empowered, yet deeply connected to my community and heritage.
